  • As vampire inspired stories continue to spew onto the big screen, some diehard Twilight fans have been inspired to undergo plastic surgery in order to look like their heroes.

Apparently fans of Twilight have been asking for plastic surgery to get the strong features of New Moon’s top stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.

Mark Bury, of SurgiCare clinics, said: “Patients are shelling out for Botox-enhanced cheekbones and jaw lines.”

Make Me Heal is glad that Botox is as far as the fans are going, as they may not always want to look like their current heroes.

Plastic surgeon Dr. Anthony Youn points out, “Having plastic surgery to look like the latest, hottest celebrity is always a dicey proposition. Just because a person likes how a celeb looks now doesn’t mean he will like how he looks 10, 20 years from now. If you had plastic surgery to look like Cindy Lauper back in the 80s would you be happy with it now?”

According to Paul S. Nassif, a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and Rhinoplasty Specialist in Beverly Hills, Calif., “ Getting plastic surgery to appear similar to a favorite movie star is not necessarily a great idea, as any procedure one undergoes would best be suited to their own facial structure.  An individual may not look natural with a feature of someone else, and would best stick to a surgeon who recognizes that alterations should be in harmony with one’s individual characteristics.”

Manhattan plastic surgeon Dr David Shafer says, “It is never a good idea to undergo plastic surgery to try and look like someone else.  A patient may want the curve of their nose like one star or cheeks like another star and this is reasonable.  However, attempting a complete overhaul of a patient’s face with the goal of looking exactly like another person is fraught with problems and is an unrealistic goal.  My goal in performing surgery is to enhance a patient’s natural features – making them look the best they can while not appearing “plastic.”

Dr Nassif says, “ Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, and Kristin Stewart are all young individuals who have not had any work done. Their features are all their own, and are not the result of any surgical enhancement.  It is difficult to predict if they will benefit from anything in the future, as every individual ages differently and has different issues that may need to be addressed.  As of now, it does not look like they will benefit from anything any time soon.”

Vampire Robert Pattinson comes by his unusual looks natural, without the aid of the knife (See Make Me Heal’s story on Rob Pattinson’s plastic surgery). His love interest, Kristen Stewart, also seems to be an all-natural girl.

OcBody Plastic surgeon Dr. John Di Saia says, “I don’t see any yet.”

Plastic surgeon Dr Sherrell J Aston agrees, saying, “In my opinion I do not think that Ms. Stewart has had any plastic surgery to date.”

The same cosmetic surgery philosophy also goes for Taylor Lautner, whom Dr Di Saia says also hasn’t been under the knife yet, as does Dr Aston and Dr Shafer.
