  • According to the British tabloid The Daily Mail, Manchester United and England striker Wayne Rooney spent nearly $50,000 on hair transplants, only to have them turn gray.

25-year old Wayne Rooney proudly admitted to getting hair transplants while undergoing plastic surgery recovery for the procedure.

” Just to confirm to all my followers I have had a hair transplant. I was going bald at 25, why not? I’m delighted with the result.”

Now, the Daily Mail says that the transplanted hairs are going gray, along with the rest of his hair.

Because transplanted hair acts the same as normal hair, it isn’t surprising.

Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer says, “I believe that newly transplanted hair should grow and act just like normal hair.  I guess that means that like many people’s hair as they get older, transplanted hair can turn gray.”

Dr. David Shafer, celebrity plastic surgeon in New York City says,  “Transplanted hair acts just like your own hair.  Just as transplanted fat for face augmentation continues to act like your own fat.”

Wayne seems to be keeping his spirits up, whether or not his hair is gray.
