Jewel’s teeth have been subjects of controversy since the singer/songwriter first hit it big. So now that she is also an actress, why won’t Jewel fix her teeth.
38-year old Jewel temporarily had her teeth fixed for her role as June Carter Cash in the upcoming Lifetime movie, Ring of Fire. However, the dental veneers and teeth whitening weren’t around for long, despite rumors after Jewel posted a photo of herself in character on Twitter.
“I found it funny that people thought that in a matter of two weeks, I was somehow able to straighten my teeth!” she related to Health.
So why won’t the singer get her teeth fixed for real?
“I just don’t like pain,” the 38-year-old admitted to Health. “I never wanted braces.”
“People have always loved my snaggletooth, which is hilarious,” she noted to the magazine. “It should be my logo! I’ve never felt like it didn’t make me sexy.”
If Jewel ever did decide to fix her teeth fixed permanently, it wouldn’t be her first foray into plastic surgery. Jewel previously got breast implants (See Make Me Heal’s story on Jewel’s breast augmentation).
