Stephanie’s Liposuction Changes Her Life

Posted on November 29th, 2007 in Personal Interviews by Makemeheal.com Staff

Ever since Stephanie (member name: cuesgirl) was a freshman in high school, she dreamed of having a proportional upper and lower body. Tired of avoiding bathing suits in public and the desire to hide her saddlebags from the world, Stephanie resorted to exercising and battled with anorexia in college. Stephanie had always thought about liposuction and at age 32, she knew that getting plastic surgery would help raise her self-esteem. Liposuction, Liposculpture, Pictures, Before, After

See Stephanie’s Before & After Plastic Surgery Pictures Album.

With the full support of her loving husband and mother, Stephanie met with Dr. Alan Bittner in Beverly Hills, California on July 2007 to get liposculpture, another term for liposuction. With the help of her knowledgeable friends on the Make Me Heal plastic surgery message boards, Stephanie is on the road to recovery with a self-confidence that has soared.

Stephanie’s advice to anyone contemplating plastic surgery is:

“If it is something you have wanted to get done for a long time but are scared I would just say do it. I wish I would have got the nerve to do it sooner. Make sure you do you research before on your doctor. Also, make sure you use the message boards on this site. They really help!”

Please join us for an interview with Stephanie:

Make Me Heal: When did you first have the idea to have your procedure?

Stephanie: I have wanted to have it done since I was a freshman in High School. I was always a very thin girl but all my life I never wanted to wear bathing suits in public since I had horrible saddle bags. I felt so different because no one my age had them. I would always wear shorts over my bathing suit when I would go to the beach or avoid pool parties. In college it lead me to Anorexia and compulsive exercising and it still didn’t help. No matter how small I got or how much I worked out I still had them.

Make Me Heal: What were your motivations behind your decision to have the procedure?

Stephanie: I was so tired of having low self esteem that I knew I needed to do something about it. When I have children I want to be a good role model and I was afraid that feeling like this about myself would rub off on them. I also was sick of never being able to find pants that fit. Here I was wearing a size small top and size 8 pants. The waist of my pants was always too big and I just looked sloppy.

Make Me Heal: How long did it take you to make a decision and was it an easy or difficult one to make?

Stephanie: It was very easy. I have been talking about it for years and decided that the time was right. I knew I wanted to have it done but I just wanted to make sure I picked the right doctor for me.

Make Me Heal: Did your family, friends, and any other people in your close circle give you support, opposition, or did you make this decision without considering them?

Stephanie: My Husband was 100% supportive. He has been there on vacations that I felt uncomfortable in a bathing suit. He has also seen me in tears on shopping trips when I couldn’t find a pair or jeans that fit me. My mother was also very supportive because she grew up with the same problem. My brother on the other hand was very upset that I was having it done. He just couldn’t understand. I think he was more worried about me than anything.

Make Me Heal: How did you research the procedure and come to decide on this particular procedure?

Stephanie: I have a low tolerance for pain so I was really scared to have Liposculpture done. I had seen it on TV and it looked horrible so I looked at other options like Lipodissolve and the new Accent Laser. I did a lot of research and went to a couple of consults and heard mixed reviews. I wanted something that I knew would work and I wasn’t 100% sure I would get those results with Lipoodissove. Plus, I heard it was really painful. So I decided to do Liposculpture because I knew the fat would be gone.

Make Me Heal: Please discuss if you used any of Make Me Heal’s resources such as the message boards, pictures library, doctor directory and doctor reviews, and any recovery and preparation products that you used.

Stephanie: I used all of the resources on the make Me Heal website. The message boards are the best. I knew exactly what to expect after the procedure. Any questions were answered really quickly.

Make Me Heal: How did you come to choose your doctor?

Stephanie: I had two consultations here in Phoenix before I decided to go with Dr. Bittner in Beverly Hills. By that time I knew what parts of my body I really wanted to have done and Dr. Bittners website was very informative. Any questions I had were on that website. I liked the fact that his prices were all inclusive and all you had to do is show up. They had everything for you. I didn’t need to go out and buy and padding, meds or garmets. The main reason I made the trip was that he specilized in Liposculpture. That is all that the staff does everyday.

Make Me Heal: Please discuss if you have any role in deciding the type of technique used for your surgery by the doctor?

Stephanie: No. Dr. Bittner made all the decisions.

Make Me Heal: How did you prepare for the surgery?

Stephanie: After reading your message boards I went out and purchased Bromelaine for the swelling. I can say that it has helped a lot.

Make Me Heal: How were you feeling the night before the surgery and on the moments before the surgery itself?

Stephanie: I was really excited but very scared. I knew I would be fine but I was mostly scared at the fact that I would be awake during the procedure. It turns out that it was really easy and seemed like it only took 15 minutes.

Make Me Heal: How was the recovery process?

Stephanie: The recovery was really easy. I had it done on a Thursday night. I was staying at a hotel in Beverly Hills and woke up around 3:00 a.m. needing my pain meds. That as the only time I needed to take them. The next day we drove 5 hours back to Phoenix and I was fine. Just a little stiff and sore. I did get a little light headed when I was changing my bandages. I had a ton of leaking and it kind of grossed me out. The leaking stopped by that night and the incision sites were closed by the next day. I went back to work on Tuesday. I do outside sales so I was able to walk around fine. Just slow and sore.

Make Me Heal: Please discuss the pain or discomfort you experienced during the recovery?

Stephanie: I was really sore for the first 3 weeks. I’m at the one month mark now and I’m still a little sore but able to work out.

Make Me Heal: How well prepared were you for the recovery from physical, emotional, and mental respects?

Stephanie: My recovery was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be. The worst part was wearing the darn garment and the itching.

Make Me Heal: What are your top recovery tips to other patients?

Stephanie: Make sure you wear the garment. You will hate it but it really helps with the swelling a long with the Bromelain. Take it easy. Don’t expect to lose 2 dresses right away. It takes time for the results to show up.

Make Me Heal: How long did you take off from work? What did you tell your co-workers about taking this time off? Did anyone notice your cosmetic procedures at work and what did you tell them if they asked about it?

Stephanie: I work from home so I don’t have co-workers. I had it done on a Thursday night and was back to work in my home office on Monday. I was out making calls in offices on Tuesday. No one noticed. I was walking a little slow, but I just told them I worked out hard.

Make Me Heal: How happy are you with the results?

Stephanie: So far I’m very happy. I would say a 8 on a scale of 1-10. As the swelling goes down I’m sure I will be at a 10!

Make Me Heal: How has your makeover impacted your life from personal, social, career, and other respects?

Stephanie: I look so much better in my clothes now. It has given me so much more confidence.

Make Me Heal: Would you have done anything differently if you had the chance?

Stephanie: I’m actually going to go back to get my calves and ankles done. I wish I would have had it done all at the same time.

Make Me Heal: What is your final word of advice to other people considering the procedure you had?

Stephanie: If it is something you have wanted to get done for a long time but are scared I would just say do it. I wish I would have got the nerve to do it sooner. Make sure you do you research before on your doctor. Also, make sure you use the message boards on this site. They really help!

Make Me Heal: Was Make Me Heal beneficial to you along your journey?

Stephanie: Very. I eased my mind that things I was going through were normal.

Has Britney Spears Gotten Liposuction?

Posted on November 26th, 2007 in Celebrity Plastic Surgery by Lisa Stern

With Britney Spears sporting dramatically thinner legs than twelve weeks ago, rumors are flying again about her having gotten liposuction or some other plastic surgery. Some reports have Britney getting a liposuction, while others speculate that the beleaguered singer had a Smartlipo (laser-assisted liposucton) or Lipodissolve, which is a controversial but popular plastic surgery involving fat burning injections.

Britney Spears, Liposuction

Britney has been seen in the last two weeks wearing her usual skimpy, thigh-bearing skirts, only this time her thighs appear to have lost an inch off their circumference and her calves looked a bit slimmer. The top half of her body, however, looks strangely the same. While exercise and a diet can be attributed to the weight loss, insiders are speculating that the hard partying Britney has opted for a lazy way to lose the extra meat via plastic surgery as opposed to a natural course of action. Furthermore, a small dent that was captured in a closeup photo of Britney’s thigh could be a liposuction scar.Britney Spears, Lipodissolve

One report mentions that on the very day that Donda West died from complications from plastic surgery, Britney Spears underwent a cosmetic makeover at the Advanced LipoDissolve Center in Las Vegas. During this visit, Britney was said to have $12,000 head to toe makeover, complete with liposuction on her thighs and buttocks.

Another rumor circling around says that Britney had Smartlipo done with Dr. John Minoli in Las Vegas while she was house hunting with her cousin Alli Sims (learn more about the revolutionary Smartlipo procedure). Ideal for treating small areas of the face, chin, neck, arms, breasts (gynecomastia), thighs, and areas of loose and flabby skin, SmartLipo melts away fat using a high powered laser. A very small cannula (tube) that is approximately 1.0-2.0 millimeters in diameter contains a laser fiber that is inserted into the skin. The cannula is moved back and forth, delivering the laser’s energy to the fat cells, causing them to rupture and easily drain away. As the laser tip comes in contact with the fat cells, the tip literally melts the fat. The laser energy also interacts with the dermis and results in collagen shrinkage – meaning it creates a desirable tightening effect on the area.

A third report rehashes an old rumor that Britney had yet another series of Lipodissolve shots, which the singer was rumored to have back in April of this year (read the full article on Britney Spear’s Lipodissolve procedure). Lipodissolve (also know as Lipolysis, Lipotherapy, Lipo-dissolve, Lipostabil, ThinJection, and Flab Jab), is a controversial procedure in which drug mixtures are injected into patients to destroy fat cells, which then leave the body along with normal waste removal (learn more about the controversial Lipodissolve procedure). Similar in concept to mesotherapy, Lipodissolve claims to remove excess fat in localized areas of the body. Fat deposits that are resistant to exercise and diet, such as the abdomen, hips, thighs, face, and back, are often the primary concerns of those patients seeking this procedure. While some patients may lose up to three inches in circumference, results vary from patient to patient. The drug mixtures used in the procedure, which have yet to be approved by the FDA, are delivered through multiple microinjections into subcutaneous fat. These injections take place over one to three treatment sessions, which are each four to six weeks apart.

Being that Britney has a long list of plastic surgeries in her past, the most recent of which has included lip injections (see full article on Britney Spears’ Lip Injections) and a previous nose job and breast augmentation, having liposuction does not seem too far of a stretch for the singer. However, from photos alone it is difficult to tell if Britney had liposuction or not since exercise alone and dieting could be attributed to the weight loss. Given Britney’s young age, such weight loss can occur with relative ease.

Some friends of Britney are supposedly saying that the singer is so pleased with the liposuction results that she is already saying “Gimme More”. One source hinted that Britney may have a breast augmentation and a lift.

“She wants her perky pre-baby boobs back.”

After seeing some photos from Make Me Heal, plastic surgeon Antony Youn could not make a definitive conclusion on the liposuction rumor.

It’s difficult to say whether she’s had liposuction based off these photos. Either way, her legs do look a bit thinner in the after photo, and it may be the result of liposuction, but can also be related to getting in better shape and weight loss. The small dent in her buttock may be natural, or it could be a scar from liposuction surgery, tells Youn to Make Me Heal.

Plastic surgeon John Di Saia told Make Me Heal that while Lipo is a hard item upon which to comment, he was more open minded about the possibility of liposuction for Britney Spears.

“She seems somewhat into cosmetic work as she gets regular lip injections. Statistically I’d say her possibility of having done Lipo Dissolve and/or more invasive Lipo is fairly high.

With the jury out on whether Britney had a liposuction procedure over the last two months, we’ll have to be on the lookout for tell-tale signs of surgery, such as lipo scars, unnatural unevenness, or lumpiness on her thighs or other areas she is rumored to have lipo-ed. For now, congratulations are in order to Britney for making a small comeback with her body. If only her musical comeback could be so sweet.

American Idol’s Simon Cowell Botoxifies Regularly

Posted on November 20th, 2007 in Celebrity Plastic Surgery by Sam Stets

Simon Cowell, Botox, Man Boobs

Simon Cowell has finally owned up to his plastic surgery secret that has kept his youthful forehead astonishingly free of any wrinkles or lines. The 47-year old Cowell admits to getting botox regularly, but denies having plastic surgery.

What spurred Cowell’s confession about using Botox was an attack from co-judge Louis Walsh on the television show The X Factor, who accused Cowell of getting as much surgery as Sharon Osbourne.

“No, absolutely not. I have not had cosmetic surgery. Yes, I’ve had Botox, but not in an obsessive way,” says Cowell.

Cowell dismissed rumors that he uses hair color to hide gray hairs. “I’ve never dyed my hair, ever and I wouldn’t,” says Cowell.

The American Idol judge previously spoke about how he thought that cosmetic surgery looks unattractive on men.

“I wouldn’t have plastic surgery, it looks ridiculous on guys,” said Cowell.

Simon Cowell says that his youth regimen consists of doing exercises at home and in his office. “I’d do 100 press-ups before I get in the bath in the morning, then at work after a meeting, I’ll shut the door and do more.”

It is admirable that Simon Cowell is comfortable in his skin and is looking forward to aging without any cosmetic intervention. Looking at Cowell closely, his face looks youthful, except for the crows feet from the sides of his eyes and slight under eye bags.

Simon Cowell, Man Boobs, GynecomastiaOn the other hand, Simon has a normal aging man’s belly and man boobs which he cannot get rid of with just exercise as only going under the knife and having liposuction or male breast reduction can eliminate the breasts. Simon Cowell is apparently self-conscious about his man boobs and was recently embarrassed when a young girl did an artistic portrait of Simon Cowell with a pair of boobs. Cowell said, “What are those? What are those? Are you saying I have those? Are you? I’m not very happy.”

In medical circles, man boobs are a medical condition known as gynecomastia, which is the development of abnormally large mammary glands in males. This condition is generally the result of a hormonal imbalance, or the side effect of certain medications, obesity, and old age. For many men, the combination of natural weight gain and the aging process will lead them to develop gynecomastia at some point in their lives as in the case of Simon Cowell, Harrison Ford, and John Travolta. While gynecomastia is not a serious physical threat to health, it can lead to increased self consciousness for the person.

Kim Cattrall On Plastic Surgery: Only Botox

Posted on November 11th, 2007 in Celebrity Plastic Surgery by Jet H. Ross

Kim Cattrall, Plastic SurgeryKim Cattrall thinks that people who get plastic surgery look like “aliens” and is determined to not have any cosmetic surgery anytime soon as she wants to age gracefully and look her age.

The 51-year old star of “Sex and the City” admits that she’s gotten Botox injections but claims that this is the “kind of” the extent of all the cosmetic enhancements she’s had, give or take a few other secret cosmetic surgery treatments. Cattrall is afraid of getting plastic surgery, as she is scared that she would no longer look like herself and be unrecognizable to herself in the mirror.

Speaking to in an interview with The Times, Kim Cattrall says, “Why would anyone lower themselves to look like an alien? I’m scared of surgery because I don’t want to look in the mirror and not recognize who’s looking back. I don’t want to be in a room, and to have people turn when I leave and say, ‘What happened?’ I’m 51 and I think I look my age, but I don’t want to be 20 any more or even 30 or 40.

Speaking about her Botox injections, Cattrall almost hinted that she has dabbled in other cosmetic surgery treatments, but did not specify what they were. If one were to speculate what cosmetic treatments Cattrall may have had, this would likely include a chemical peel or laser skin resurfacing to maintain her youthful skin. It does not appear that Cattrall has had any invasive surgery such as a facelift, neck lift or blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), as the actress is blessed with good genes.

“I’m too terrified to get any proper work so I’ve had just little things done. I have a big crease between my eyebrows and I use Botox to get rid of that, but that’s kind of it.”

Kim Cattrall looks up to actresses such as Helen Mirren, 62, and Judi Dench, 72, because they have grown gracefully.

I don’t look at magazines for my definition of what is beautiful. Is that a heavily retouched 18-year-old or a 40-year-old on the cover? I don’t think so - nobody looks like that. I look at people such as Helen Mirren or Judi Dench, these amazing women who look great, but look their age.”

Ironically, Mirren and Dench are both rumored to have gotten plastic surgery (read the complete article on Helen Mirren & Judi Dench’s plastic surgery rumors). In particular Helen Mirren is rumored to have gotten a lower facelift, botox injections, and laser skin treatments. Additionally, Judi Dench’s lack of sagging skin around her eyes, no hooding over the eyes, and lack of bags below her eyes suggest the strong possibility that she had a blepharoplasty.

Jennifer Hudson Confirms No Plastic Surgery

Posted on November 9th, 2007 in Black Plastic Surgery, Celebrity Plastic Surgery by Lisa Stern

Jennifer Hudsom, Breast Implants, Augmentation

Despite the swirling plastic surgery rumors about Jennifer Hudson having gotten breast implants, the Oscar winning actress has dismissed these claims and has gone on record to say that she will never need to have plastic surgery.

Hudson is so happy with her looks that she cannot imagine ever wanting to enhance her already copious breasts and voluptuous lips.

“I have the height of a model, the breasts that people pay for and the lips that everybody wants, so why should I change? I wouldn’t change myself for anything or anybody. That will never happen,” says Jennifer Hudson.

Back in June of this year, Make Me Heal published an article about the rumor of Jennifer Hudson’s breast augmentation (read full article about Jennifer Hudson’s Breast Implants rumor). Sources who speculated that Hudson got breast implants have shown photos of the singer/actress with her breasts protruding out of her dress and having an unnatural roundness. These sources pointed that while in the past her breasts seem to fit perfectly into her dress, in recent photos they appear unnaturally rounder than usual and seem to have trouble staying inside her dress.

Despite the evidence of these photos, Make Me Heal staff ultimately concluded that the breast implants rumor was likely to be false, as Hudson, after all, is a curvy, voluptuous woman who always had large breasts since her days on American Idol. Additionally, it appears that Jennifer may have gained some weight in the last few years which could potentially have gone right to her breasts and can explain the increasing boob size since a few years ago. Also, it can very well be that she is using something else, like a push-up bra, to perk up her breasts.

It does not seem reasonable that Jennifer Hudson would want to get implants to boost her already large bust, as that would only cause her breasts to sag more and make her overall body appear bigger overall.

Plastic surgeon Dr. Anthony Youn expressed doubt about Jennifer Hudson having breast implants and told Make Me Heal, “They look pretty natural. Jennifer’s breasts are definitely big, but they fit her body since she is a full-figured girl.”

Becky Turns Clock Back With Face Lift

Posted on November 9th, 2007 in Personal Interviews by Makemeheal.com Staff

Facelift, Face Lift, Photos, Plastic Surgery

See Becky’s Before & After Plastic Surgery Pictures Album.

Becky had enough of people asking her if she was upset or tired. So in February 2007, 56-year old Becky (member name: newbecky) decided to get a deep plane face lift, blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) of the upper and lower lids, and fat injections to her lips.
Not a stranger to plastic surgery, as she had a breast augmentation in 1989, Becky knew exactly which plastic surgeon she wanted. She consulted with Dr. Robert Schutz in Rapid City, South Dakota and relied on him and the Make Me Heal plastic surgery message boards for her questions.

Facing opposition from friends and family, Becky decided to have the plastic surgery makeover anyway. Now, that Becky has survived the recovery period through the support of fellow Make Me Heal members, her self-confidence has soared and her husband and family thinks that she is ever more youthful and beautiful than before.

Becky’s advice to anyone contemplating plastic surgery is:

You definitely should do it. Do not let others (family, friends, co-workers) influence your decision. Find the best board certified surgeon available and set up a consultation. Do lots of research on the before and after and then set up your surgery and go for it! It’s the new YOU!”

Please join us for a interview with Becky.

Make Me Heal: When did you first have the idea to have your procedure?

Becky: The breast augmentation I have wanted since I was a teenager. I was a RN working at an out patient surgery center and had scrubbed in on breast augmentations and liked the results. So, in 1989 I had Dr. Bradner a board certified plastic surgeon do the surgery. I loved the results and finally felt like a woman and felt my body was proportioned. The face lift and blepharoplasty I wanted to do when I was 50. But, my family and friends talked me out of it and said I looked great and didn’t need it. However, in the next 5 years I heard so many people say to me that I looked really tired or they would ask me if upset about something. I was not tired and I was not upset. I would look in the mirror and see what they saw and understand how they got that idea. I had bags under my eyes and I had a permanent frown.

Make Me Heal: What were your motivations behind your decision to have the procedure?

Becky: wanted to look as good as I felt and I wanted to put on makeup and know I looked as good as I could. Before, after makeup application I still didn’t like how I looked.

Make Me Heal: How long did it take you to make a decision and was it an easy or difficult one to make?

Becky: It took the 5 years after I turned 50 to decide that I didn’t care what others thought and I was going to do it for myself. It was an easy decision after that.

Make Me Heal: Did your family, friends, and any other people in your close circle give you support, opposition, or did you make this decision without considering them?

Becky No one gave me support and everyone thought I was crazy to have it done. I did it totally without considering them.

Make Me Heal: How did you research the procedure and come to decide on this particular procedure?

Becky: I did a lot of research online and I did discuss with my plastic surgeon and his nurse the procedure and what I could expect with the results. I am a R.N. And I had seen the results and the techniques done by several surgeons and I knew which one was the very best. When I visited with my plastic surgeon, I told him all my concerns and what I didn’t like about my face and relied upon him for the best solutions to my problem.

Make Me Heal: Please discuss if you used any of Make Me Heal’s resources such as the message boards, pictures library, doctor directory and doctor reviews, and any recovery and preparation products that you used.

Becky: I didn’t find the Make Me Heal site until after my surgery. I was so excited when I found it and I read a lot of the message boards and looked at the before and after pictures. It was especially helpful to know what I was feeling was normal and to be expected such as the depression and feeling like I would never heal. The best gift I received from Make Me Heal was a new best friend. I found her on the site. She had surgery the same day as mine and had a similar procedure. We found out we live fairly close and she used to live in the same town as I live now. We email everyday and she has been a source of great comfort to me. We are getting together in July. Thank you Make Me Heal!

Make Me Heal: How did you come to choose your doctor?

Becky: As I mentioned before, I had scrubbed in this surgeon and others and knew in my mind which one was the very best and he was.

Make Me Heal: Please discuss if you have any role in deciding the type of technique used for your surgery by the doctor?

Becky: I left it up to the surgeon because I felt he knew what was appropriate for me. I did not disagree with any of his decisions and felt they were the best.

Make Me Heal: How did you prepare for the surgery?

Becky: I quit smoking for 3 months prior to the surgery. The only other thing I did to prepare was to purchase liquid nutritious drinks at the recommendation of the surgeon and I bought a neck pillow. No I’m sorry I didn’t find you site until after my surgery. So, I didn’t purchase any products.

Make Me Heal: How were you feeling the night before the surgery and on the moments before the surgery itself?

Becky: I was feeling so many emotions.  I was scared, nervous, and excited.  But, I have to say that I was mostly very excited because I wanted it so badly.  I prayed the night before for everything to go well.

Make Me Heal: How was the recovery process?

Becky: Now we come to the worst part. The recovery for the first month was awful. I found out thanks to Make Me Heal forum that what I was going through was normal and also through my surgeons encouragement. I did not expect the swelling and bruising to last so long. I really thought after a week I would be looking pretty good. Boy, was I wrong. The worst part was my family being so “grossed out” by looking at me and telling me how bad I looked and they kept asking me, how I could do this to myself. The depression set in for a couple of weeks and then I started seeing improvements gradually. I got lots of encouragement and support from the nurses and the plastic surgeon. My husband and a good friend stayed with me for a couple of days and then I really didn’t need anyone to help me. The great thing was to email my friend I found on Make Me Heal and we encouraged each other and would email pictures back and forth to see if the other one saw improvement from the swelling and bruising.

Make Me Heal: Please discuss the pain or discomfort you experienced during the recovery?

Becky: I had some discomfort for the first couple of days. Mostly it was a feeling of being very uncomfortable especially with the large bandage on. I was given pain pills which really helped. The most pain I had was when the surgeon pulled the drain tubes. Now, that was not pleasant! I had a lot of numbness in my checks, chin, and lips so I didn’t feel much pain.

Make Me Heal: How well prepared were you for the recovery from physical, emotional, and mental respects?

Becky: Actually, I wasn’t as prepared as I thought for the recovery part of the surgery. The funny thing is that I thought since I was a nurse I could handle it and knew what to expect. I was wrong. I think the recovery part (physical, emotional, and mental) is so important to be prepared for and I don’t think I was. I would love to tell all people who are contemplating plastic surgery or have it scheduled already, to do more research on recovery and go to Make Me Heal to read some of the forums and ask questions to those that have been through it. I think it would make their recovery much smoother.

Make Me Heal: What are your top recovery tips to other patients?

Becky: Ask others that have had the surgery what to expect and do research on recovery. Talk to your family and tell them what to expect and if possible, show them pictures of others so they understand. Find a friend through Make Me Heal to talk to throughout your recovery.

Make Me Heal: How long did you take off from work? What did you tell your co-workers about taking this time off? Did anyone notice your cosmetic procedures at work and what did you tell them if they asked about it?

Becky: Actually, I wasn’t working at the time I had surgery. However, I do a lot of volunteer work and just stayed away for awhile. I did tell people closest to me what I was going to do and I told others when I went out in public (about 3 weeks) if they stared. I’m certainly not ashamed of my face lift and I’m very proud to look better. It amazing that some people didn’t even notice (2 months post-op). They just said you look great.

Make Me Heal: How happy are you with the results?

Becky: I just couldn’t be more elated!

Make Me Heal: How has your makeover impacted your life from personal, social, career, and other respects?

Becky: I smile more and I feel good about myself. My husband now thinks I look more beautiful. He did say I looked beautiful before. He was not in favor of the surgery at all. I think he’s changed his mind now (4 months post-op).

Make Me Heal: Would you have done anything differently if you had the chance?

Becky: Yes, just researched the recovery part better. However, I would not have changed the surgery part.

Make Me Heal: What is your final word of advice to other people considering the procedure you had?

Becky: You definitely should do it. Do not let others (family, friends, co-workers) influence your decision. Find the best board certified surgeon available and set up a consultation. Do lots of research on the before and after and then set up your surgery and go for it! It’s the new YOU!

Jane Seymour Got Breast Implants For Wedding Crashers

Posted on November 7th, 2007 in Celebrity Plastic Surgery by Jet H. Ross

Actress Jane Seymour, known for her role in “Dancing With The Stars” and her prudish performances in the TV show “Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman” shocked audiences with a scene-stealing topless scene in the 2005 comedy “Wedding Crashers”. But seeing the 56-year-old actress flashing her breasts and getting fondled by Owen Wilson on screen was not the only shocker, as Make Me Heal’s team who watched the film had always maintained that her breasts appeared far too perky to be real. Truth be told, the former Bond Girl is finally admitting to having gotten breast implants after years of denying it, and more precisely, she got them right after landing the topless part in the film. Moreover, it appears she had a few other cosmetic surgery enhancements along the way as well.

Jane Seymour, Breast Implants, Augmentation

Seymour says that she never thought she would succumb to plastic surgery, but after getting the part of a middle-aged society lady with an insatiable sexual appetite, she could not pass up the opportunity to have this funny role.

“When I first read it I thought ‘gosh, there’s no way I can do this. But then I thought, reading it again, this is just too good and there has to be a way of doing this (…) so I found a way of doing it that I feel really comfortable with,” said Seymour a few years ago when interviewed about getting the part of the seductress in the blockbuster comedy.

Seymour definitely found a way to not only nail the part but also to look the part with a small breast augmentation. The pressure of having a nude scene with an actor who is nearly 20 years her junior led her to have a small breast augmentation. Seymour elected to have small breast implants so that the plastic surgery would not make her boobs look screamingly fake. Seymour says that her breast implants were so small, that she had to have them custom-made.

“My plastic surgeon had to special order them,” says Seymour.

Seymour has had mixed feelings about her decision to undergo breast augmentation just for a movie role. Speaking about her decision, Seymour says “It was very sad”, but she felt the need to do it in order to look the part in the movie.

Seymour’s breast augmentation would normally not have made a bleep on the plastic surgery radar had her breasts not been so upright and perky in Wedding Crashers. Being that the breast size enhancement was so subtle in Seymour’s case, one could easily have overlooked the boob job. But in light of Seymour’s age, gravity would have normally caused her breasts to descend downward and sag. The absence of sagging in her breasts immediately rang the alarm for Make Me Heal on her boob job.

Seymour also admitted to getting a blepharoplasty (eye lift) over a decade ago to get rid of her eye bags and Botox injections a few years ago. “Genetically I had baggy eyes, and photographers said they didn’t want to spend money endlessly having to eradicate the bags,” says Seymour in a just released interview with People Magazine.

Seymour has no plans to go under the knife in the near future and has dismissed plastic surgery for now, or until she sees results that appear more natural. So while she does not rule out the possibility of more plastic surgery, Seymour says she is turned off by the “artificial” look of the results and would not consider surgery seriously until she feels aesthetic medicine comes of age and look more natural.

“I’ve never said I won’t,” the Daily Mail recently quoted her as saying. “But until I see a full facelift that doesn’t look like one, or Botox or cheekbone implants that look natural, I doubt I’ll be interested.”

Seymour also says she’s had no work on her face, including no facelift. “I haven’t had a facelift. This is what a 56 year old woman looks like - with wrinkles,” she says.

While it is true that it is easy to tell some celebrities who had work done because of the exaggerated amount of work they had done, there are many normal people who get plastic surgery in moderation and whose results are extremely natural and one would not know they had gone under the knife. A quick look at the many plastic surgery pictures submitted by people who frequent Make Me Heal shows that plastic surgery can definitively look very natural without the beholder ever knowing that the person had surgery.

Whatever Jane Seymour is doing to look so great, she should keep on doing as she looks over a decade younger than her true age.  One young staffer at Make Me Heal who watches Dancing With The Stars religiously expressed shock at reading that Seymour was 56, as the staffer thought she was in her late 30’s.
