Did Real Housewife Bethenny Frankel Get Plastic Surgery?

Posted on April 9th, 2009 in Celebrity Plastic Surgery by Jet H. Ross

Plastic surgery is practically a requirement to be a cast member of Bravo’s reality television series “The Real Housewives of Orange County.” But what about the show’s New York incarnation? Make Me Heal investigates the possible plastic surgery of Real Housewife of New York, natural food chef Bethenny Frankel.

38-year old Bethenny Frankel is undeniably attractive, but how much of her good looks are due to plastic surgery? In 1994, Bethenny appeared topless in a little-known movie called Hollywood Hills 90028, revealing her large, but sagging breasts. Since then, Bethenny’s breasts seem to have been rejuvenated, as they are higher, firmer and rounder than ever. As breasts usually drop with age, it seems likely that Bethenny has had a breast augmentation and possible breast lift as well.

Bethenny Frankel, Breast Implants

Plastic surgeon Dr. Jennifer Walden says, “Bethenny Frankel looks like she has had breast augmentation as the roundness of the implant along her upper bust line is apparent.”

Manhattan plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer also thinks that Bethenny may have had plastic surgery saying, “She may have had a breast lift or implants when comparing her present photos to her revealing 1994 photos.”

Since her initial appearance on the first season of “The Real Housewives of New York,” many have also noted that Bethenny’s face seems to look better than ever, leading to speculation that she has fillers, and/or Botox to help relax the lines in her face and improve the hollows of her skin which made her look older.

Dr. David Shafer reveals, “Bethenny Frankel looks much improved from previous years. She may have had Botox or chemical peels or laser. However, when comparing her present and past photos, she is doing a much better job with her make up and skin tone.”

Bethenny Frankel, Plastic Surgery

According to Paul S. Nassif, a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and Rhinoplasty Specialist in Beverly Hills, Calif., “Bethany has most likely had a rhinoplasty. In addition, she has indications of possible fillers being used around the cheeks. She may have also had an upper eyelid lift, as she appears to be very hollow in this region.”

On the other hand, Dr. Walden says, “She naturally has strong facial features and bone structure, however, it doesn’t seem that she has had any surgery done to her face.”

If Bethenny has had plastic surgery, she would be in good company with the Real Housewives of Orange County stars especially Lauri Waring and Lynne Curtin. (See Make Me Heal’s story on Lauri Waring’s plastic surgery and Lynne Curtin’s plastic surgery).

Whether or not Bethenny has been under the knife, it does seem as though she is looking better than ever.

Did Political Commentator Ann Coulter Get Breast Implants?

Posted on April 8th, 2009 in Celebrity Plastic Surgery by Lisa Stern

Ann Coulter is often at the center of controversy for her uncompromising viewpoints. But her latest controversy isn’t whether or not she’s right or wrong, it’s whether or not the self-proclaimed polemicist has undergone a breast augmentation.

Ann Coulter, Plastic Surgery

47-year old Ann Coulter is often criticized for being anti-semetic after stating that Jews need to be perfected. Despite her remarks, it seems that Ann is after her own perfection, at least physically, by getting some breast implants.

Ann is proud of her stance as a controversial figure and often brags about the money it has earned, money she seems to have spent on breast implants. Many have noticed that although Ann remains thin, her chest has expanded significantly, a likely indication of plastic surgery.

Plastic surgeon Dr. John Di Saia says, “Ann has likely had implants placed.”

Ann doesn’t reveal her implants often, but seems to have made an exception when she posed for the cover of Playboy magazine a few years ago. While Ann’s increase in bust size could be due to a padded bra, it could also be airbrushing, making any definitive answer on Ann’s implants ambiguous.

Manhattan plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer says, “Ann Coulter may well have had breast implants, but it is hard to tell from the photos. In the most recent photos, she is standing with her arms pulled back which make her breasts appear larger. On the Playboy cover, there appears to be a very nice Photoshop version of Ann, but what is real or fake is unknown.”

Ann’s offensive remarks to minorities of all orientations aside, she clearly has body built for the camera and not radio, possibly thanks to plastic surgery.

New & Cheaper Injectable Reloxin May Become Competitor To Botox

Posted on April 7th, 2009 in Facial Plastic Surgery, Procedures & Breakthroughs by Makemeheal.com Staff

By Patty Kovacs, Editor-at-Large, Makemeheal.com

As the number of plastic surgery procedures in the United States decline with the tightening economy, a new secret weapon in the war on wrinkles may soon become the hottest age-defying injectable treatment. Called Reloxin, this new injectable may just be the affordable version of Botox to help bailout people who cannot afford the original. Can Reloxin be as effective as Botox? Possibly. Will it be cheaper than Botox? Likely.

Presently awaiting U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval, Reloxin is suggested by many as the up-and-coming rival to Botox Cosmetic to become the newest wrinkle fighting injectable to work magic on lines and furrows of the face, particularly the forehead area.

Like Botox, Reloxin (Clostridium botulinum toxin type A-hemagglutinin complex) is an injectable form of botulinum toxin Type A. Also like Botox, small doses of the Reloxin are injected into targeted wrinkle-causing muscles, preventing the muscle from contracting and effectively reducing appearance of wrinkles. But with Reloxin, there is a greater diffusion of the toxin from pontiff injection, quite desirable in certain areas like the forehead.

Reloxin is now approved in 23 countries outside the United States to smooth wrinkles and has also been used outside the United States for more than 15 years to under the trade name Dysport to treat neurological disorders.

Reloxin, Plastic Surgery

Reloxin is currently sold outside the U.S. by Ipsen SA, based in Boulogne-Billancourt, France, outside Paris. In 2006, Ipsen granted Medicis the rights to develop, distribute and commercialize Reloxin as a wrinkle treatment in the U.S., Canada and Japan. Medicis is also the company behind the popular hyaluronic acid injectable Restylane.

“Reloxin is as safe and it works as well as Botox,” says Dr. Ronald Moy from the Moy-Fincher Medical Group for cosmetic and skin surgery in Los Angeles and esteemed professor at University of California, Los Angeles medical school. Having served as lead researcher in a Reloxin study funded by Medicis, Dr. Moy was impressed with the results of the objective study.

Dr. Moy spoke with Makemeheal.com recently as he shared that he’s quite in favor of Reloxin’s potential to serve the cosmetic injectables market. “Many of our patients were happier and got a more natural look with the use of Reloxin. I think it will be a serious competitor to Botox,” Moy added.

Reloxin, Cosmetic Surgery

A team from the Moy-Fincher Medical Group researchers in Los Angeles conducted the study treating 1,200 patients with injections of Reloxin in sites of the forehead area of the face. As many as five treatments were given during the study. Patients were asked to record the effects of the treatment in diaries and were interviewed 7-10 days after treatment. In addition, patients were reexamined two weeks, then 30 days later, and then again each month after treatment. Many patients reported that the drug started working within days after treatment. After a week, up to 95 percent said they had responded to the medication. The study also found that in many cases Reloxin lasted remarkably long term.

Reloxin, Injectables

Among the 1,052 patients who completed the 13-month study there were 2,838 adverse events among 880 patients. Of these, 28 percent were probably related to the treatment. These included problems at the injection site, nervous system disorders such as headache and eye problems including ptosis, a drooping of the eyelid or brow. Only one patient withdrew from study due to the side effects of the drug, the researchers say.

Another possible benefit of this new wrinkle relaxer is cost. Reloxin may turn out to be more cost effective than Botox Cosmetic. Medicis has made no decisions on pricing but sources say Reloxin may possibly be priced as much as 15% lower than Botox which will allow it to take a significant share of the billion dollar wrinkle relaxer market. At a recent conference of the American Academy of Dermatology, Reloxin had almost all participants abuzz with anticipation and excitement. Word in plastic surgery circles is that it will at the very least drive down the cost of Botox because of the competition. I’m one for a little ‘healthy’ competition in this market.

Reloxin, Botox

For years, Allergan has monopolized the cosmetic and therapeutic market of botulinum toxin type A, taking full advantage of their 83% worldwide monopoly by raising the price of Botox almost biannually. Botox sales for 2009 are expected to be between $1.15 billion and $1.19 billion. Last year’s revenue was $1.3 billion, about half from cosmetic sales. Botox has long been such a U.S. mainstay of cosmetic medicine to reduce forehead wrinkles and frown lines that consumers’ conversational use of the word “Botox” is both a noun and a verb by regular ‘Botox-ers’.

The arrival of a less costly injectable such as Reloxin during the worse recession in decades is timely, as some price-conscious Botoxers will likely shift to using Reloxin if the results are comparable.

Approval for Reloxin is still hush-hush, but its corporate sponsors, Medicis Pharmaceutical of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Ipsen of Paris, have refiled their application for Food and Drug Administration approval to market this new wrinkle-fighting injectable drug in the United States.

Reloxin, Botox

Since less quantity is required of Reloxin, the conversion rate of units will initially be sort of like learning a new language. Don’t look to convert units to units, rather work with a trusted physician to learn the required units of Reloxin for your body.

Remember, always carefully research and check the medical credentials and Board Certification of any physician or surgeon you select for cosmetic aesthetic enhancement.

Does Julia Roberts Stay Looking Fresh With Plastic Surgery?

Posted on April 7th, 2009 in Celebrity Plastic Surgery by bdeutsch

In Julia Robert’s latest film, Duplicity, fans may notice something about the Pretty Woman, she’s not older, she’s better looking, thanks to some careful plastic surgery.

In the February 2004 issue of InTouch, dermatologist Dr. Paul Jarrod Frank revealed that the secret to Julia’s smile remaining fresh and young may be plastic surgery.

Dr. Frank told the magazine about then 36-year old Julia, “Her lips were always full, but they were asymmetrical and quirky. But now they look symmetrical, and that’s a giveaway that she may have had collagen implants.”

Julia Roberts, Plastic Surgery

(Julia Roberts in 2007)

Julia has always remained mysterious has to whether or not she has had plastic surgery, saying, “Whether it’s plastic surgery or running four miles when you get out of bed in the morning…if something makes you happy you should do whatever it is.”

In the same article, cosmetic surgeon Dr. Simon Ourian shared his opinion that Julia had used Botox between her brows.

Now 41, Julia still looks as amazing as ever and has likely continued to use facial fillers and Botox to freshen up and stay looking great.

According to Paul S. Nassif, a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and Rhinoplasty Specialist in Beverly Hills, Calif., “Julia Roberts may have had some Botox injected into her crow’s feet and forehead. Her smile lines are also softer, which is possibly due to the use of a facial filler.”

Plastic surgeon Dr. Jennifer Walden also thinks that Julia’s smile has improved due to some careful plastic surgery. She says, “Julia Roberts may have had some dental surgery to reduce the visibility of her gums when she smiles. Other than that she looks beautiful and young, she may be using Juvederm to keep her lips plump and Botox to keep her forehead smooth.”

On the other hand, Julia’s lips have always been full and she can still show emotion with her eyes and forehead.

Julia Roberts, Plastic Surgery

(Julia Roberts in 1998)

As New York plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer notes, “Julia Roberts has always had a huge, beautiful smile. She does have less of a gummy smile in her most recent pictures. Her lips have always been full, so I do not suspect fillers. She has crow’s feet and forehead wrinkles with animation, so I would doubt there is much use of Botox.”

In the past, Julia has been the subject of breast augmentation rumors, especially after appearing with a full bustline in the film Erin Brokovich, for which she received an Academy Award. She has since attributed the full appearance of her breasts in that film to great bras and breast-feeding.

As one of America’s Sweethearts, Julia is certain to continue to charm fans with her signature smile, with or without plastic surgery.

Dolly Parton Undergoes A Plastic Surgery Transformation

Posted on April 6th, 2009 in Celebrity Plastic Surgery by Lisa Stanfield

Dolly Parton is an American icon, as a country vocalist, occasional actress as well as an entrepreneur with yet another album. But where would this Backwoods Barbie be if she didn’t have some plastic surgery?

In the past, Dolly herself and Dolly’s plastic surgeon, Dr. John Grossman, a plastic surgeon in Denver and Beverly Hills have spoken openly about the nips and tucks that the 63-year old singer has had. He revealed a few years ago, “She has a generous bosom, which I augmented some years ago,” he says. “She’s had her face rejuvenated on a number of occasions, [but] not a full face-lift.”

Dolly Parton, Plastic Surgery

(Left: Before, Right: After)

According to Paul S. Nassif, a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and Rhinoplasty Specialist in Beverly Hills, California, “Dolly Parton looks as though she has had a great deal of facial work done:

She seems to have had a brow lift, which is evident because her brows are extremely elevated. Dolly also looks like she has had an upper blepharoplasty (eye lid lift), as the upper eyelid appears hollow.

You can tell that she has had an over-aggressive rhinoplasty because she has an inverted V deformity of the middle vault of the nose. Her bony width (dorsum) is very thin and her tip appears to have been over-reduced.

In addition, her chin appears slightly square due to a chin implant. She most likely had a facelift as well. Her lips are very plump, which is likely due to fillers. Clearly, Dolly is a fan of plastic surgery. She has a wonderful spirit about her.”

Dolly has a great sense of humor about herself, telling talk show host Larry King, “I look at myself like a show dog. I’ve got to keep her clipped and trimmed and in good shape.”

New York plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer says, “Dolly Parton has always looked amazing. She has obviously had plastic surgery and it has done well for her. In her most recent photos her periorbital [around the eye socket] areas appear hollowed out. She may want to consider some fillers or fat grafting to soften these areas.”

Although Dolly is an amazing woman, it seems that for her, plastic surgery could be too much of a good thing. Plastic surgeon Dr. John Di Saia warns, “Dolly needs to curtail her use of plastic surgery, so she isn’t a Carol Burnett look-a-like in the future. She has been a frequent flyer in her past if appearances are correct.”

Make Me Heal has always enjoyed Dolly’s considerable talents and her latest album, Backwoods Barbie is no exception.

Did Pamela Anderson Have More Plastic Surgery?

Posted on April 3rd, 2009 in Celebrity Plastic Surgery by Carrie Zender

Recently pictures of former Playmate Pamela Anderson surfaced which revealed the actress looking much more refreshed than she has lately. The new pictures led to a tidal wave of bloggers wondering if the former Baywatch babe had more facial plastic surgery?

The 41-year old mother of two is certainly no stranger to plastic surgery, going under the knife multiple times to have her breasts augmented, reduced and augmented again. (See Make Me Heal’s story on Pamela Anderson’s breast implants).

Pamela Anderson, Plastic Surgery

Although Pamela seems to have finally settled on an implant size (at least for now), it seems as though she is trying to find the perfect size for her lips.

Last year, many began to notice that while Pamela looked older and more haggled, her lips looked larger than life, indicating the use of an injectable filler, like Juvederm, as Dr. Anthony Youn noted on his blog.

Make Me Heal also noticed her lip fluctuations, as did some other plastic surgery experts.

“Pamela Anderson is infamous for her breast augmentation. Not one but a couple– first to augment, then to reduce, and back to increase her bust size. She may also have had Juvederm or another filler to plump her lips,” says plastic surgeon Dr. Jennifer Walden.

While Pamela clearly did something to her face, it seems to have settled in and finally begun to look good.

Manhattan plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer says, “Pamela Anderson is obviously no stranger to plastic surgery. In comparing her most recent photos to those from one year previously she looks much better. Her skin has improved color, she is wearing much less makeup and she appears well-rested. Her lips have calmed down and look much softer. Whatever she did between since last year really made a nice improvement.”

But the new change in her appearance seems to be due to a less harsh make-up application than to any drastic surgeries.

Dr. Paul S. Nassif, a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and Rhinoplasty Specialist in Beverly Hills, Calif., says, “Pamela doesn’t look like she has had any facial plastic surgery recently, she is just wearing better make-up. She looks good.

Pamela Anderson looks fantastic for anyone, especially someone her age. Make Me Heal hopes Pamela continues with her new make-up techniques that seem to have such a positive effect on her appearance.

Byron Is Thrilled With His Post Weight Loss Plastic Surgery

Posted on April 3rd, 2009 in Personal Interviews by Makemeheal.com Staff

Liposuction, Chest Lift

(Left: Before, Right: After)

30 year old Byron had always been concerned about his weight since he was a child. He knew he didn’t want to be overweight the rest of his life, so he made the decision to start losing the weight. Byron lost 200 pounds from diet in exercise in 1999. After this massive weight loss, Byron was left with an abundance of draped skin. He realized that the only way for him to really to enjoy this weight loss would be undergoing plastic surgery. After meeting with several plastic surgeons, he finally found the perfect one, Dr. Brenda Draper, who performed an extended tummy tuck, liposuction, a chest lift, BOTOX, and juvederm in November of 2007.

Byron’s advice for anyone having plastic surgery:

“It is of the UTMOST IMPORTANCE with any procedure that you know your provider well. Do TONS of research before committing to one. Ask to see before and after pictures of their work, ask to speak to a willing patient of theirs over the phone and ask them blunt questions…”

Please join us below for an interview with Byron:

Make Me Heal: When did you first have the idea to have your procedure(s)?

Byron: After having lost 200 lbs. the skin draped about me was continuing to worsen. I knew that I had to do something if I wanted to really be able to enjoy the fruits of all my hard work.

Make Me Heal: What were your motivations (physical, emotional, social, etc.) behind your decision to have the procedure(s)?

Byron: I knew that somewhere underneath all that skin was a hansom young man waiting to get out. I worked so hard and at the time I was about 20yo. I knew I wouldn’t be happy wearing clothing 2 sizes too big for the rest of my life. I worked tirelessly baking that cake, but surgery would be the icing. I was never looking for the perfect body, just what I considered a normal one.

Make Me Heal: How long did it take you to make a decision and was it an easy or difficult one to make?

Byron: The choice to have surgery was easy. As soon as I knew there was an option to rid myself of my redundant skin, the choice was made. The difficulty came in choosing a surgeon. I saw several and though I will not say my experience is typical, 5 or 6 of them just wouldn’t cut it for me. They seemed busy, preoccupied, uninterested in my ideas. I was throrouhgly researched and studied before I went. I think most of them didn’t like the idea of a 20yo guy coming in with pictures and facts and study materials etc. They wanted to be the expert educating the clueless and didn’t realize it shouldn’t be about what they want no matter what my age was. Then I found Dr. Brenda Draper. At our initial consult I was, even having visited with several other surgeons, extremely nervous and a bit wary. My experience with many of the others was less than positive.

Immediately of note was how calming her voice was. I’m not sure she was ready for me, but I had a research folder with pictures, straight-forward questions, drawings etc. ready to pick the whole thing apart. She never batted an eye. She was very kind and sensitive. She could sense, I believe, just how uncomfortable it was for me, a 20 year old kid to be showing and discussing such unloved parts of my anatomy with a stranger.

Unlike many of the other physicians with whom I had gone through the consult experience, she made me feel like there was nothing wrong with me. Now I can’t exactly explain how one does that when one is going in to discuss “what’s wrong”, but she accomplished it. She never rushed me or dismissed my concerns or questions.  I felt so at home. I felt as though I were sitting in the living room of a trusted friend who just happened to be a plastic surgeon.

Her office was clean and tastefully decorated. Her staff was very kind, accommodating, down to earth and not at all pretentious. Her bedside manner has been unsurpassed by any physician I have seen or worked with as a nurse.  Her follow up was excellent, skill top notch and results speak for themselves

Make Me Heal: Did your family, friends, and any other people in your close circle give you support, opposition, or did you make this decision without considering them?

Byron: Most of us who seek out improvement are hoping to put an end to our relentless camouflage habit. I was pretty good at hiding what I didn’t like and people really had no idea the extent of my problem. That’s why I suppose a lot of people were confused and said things like, “You’re good just the way you are, don’t do this”. Others were so happy for me they beamed with as much delight as I did. It wasn’t until after the surgeries that I was comfortable showing off what it was the doctor and myself were “fixing”. A lot of apologies followed and support flowed freely. My parents were always in my corner then and that was very important.

Make Me Heal: How did you research the procedure and come to decide on this particular procedure?

Byron: My research was all done online. Initially I hadn’t heard of Makemeheal.com (the first surgery), but I’d love to have known about it then.

Make Me Heal: Please discuss if you used any of Make Me Heal’s resources such as the message boards, pictures library, doctor directory and doctor reviews, and any recovery and preparation products that you used.

Byron: After the initial surgery, research for the subsequent surgery 8 or 9 years later was contributed to largely by www.makemeheal.com the photos allow a person to really get an unbiased opinion of what it is like to recover, to heal, what results they can expect. The sharing of support and info has been invaluable.

Make Me Heal: Please discuss if you have any role in deciding the type of technique used for your surgery by the doctor, incision placements, implant brand, anesthesia type, etc.

Byron: Dr. Draper is very interested in discussing the options available to her patients. She lays out for you, based upon her experience, what she believes would work best. It’s a “together” thing with her all the way. She believes communication is key to getting realistic results for patients. She is wary of scarring and discussed at length all the possible scenarios and allowed me to choose according to my preference.

Make Me Heal: How did you prepare for the surgery?

Byron: I took quite a bit of time off from work, I purchased lots of things. Some of the most important I would reccomend would be dressing change supplies and “bath wipes”.

Make Me Heal: How were you feeling the night before the surgery and on the moments before the surgery itself?

Byron: As I suppose is typical, I doubt a slept much the night before. I was very apprehensive. I suppose some degree of nervousness is natural. All it took though was a little visit with the beloved doc to reassure me that everything would be alright. And it was.

Make Me Heal: How was the recovery process? Please discuss what side effects you experienced? What were the worse parts of the recovery? Did anyone help you during the recovery?

Byron: Recovery, for me, was a bugger for that first week. For the tummy tuck, the worst part of the discomfort was my back, not being able to stand up straight for a couple of weeks was pretty tough, but the abdomen, to the best of my memory was just like I’d done a million crunches or something similar to it. Really the pain was totally bearable.

Make Me Heal: How well prepared were you for the recovery from physical, emotional, and mental respects?

Byron: I was very well prepared by the office and medical staff at my doctors office. Nothing, though, can really prepare you except going through it.

Make Me Heal: What are your top recovery tips to other patients?

Byron: READ READ READ! Get online and learn as much as you can about the entire process from start to finish. The better educated you are the better off you’ll be.

Make Me Heal: How long did you take off from work? What did you tell your co-workers about taking this time off? Did anyone notice your cosmetic procedures at work and what did you tell them if they asked about it?

Byron: Well another lesson learned was to keep things a bit more to myself. At first, I was proud, excited and blabbed and bragged to all my friends, most of whom seemed very excited for me. There are those in everyone’s life who just will not understand, who will doubt, question motivations, pass judgement. In the work place it is really better to just avoid this I’ve learned. If I had it to do over again I would have just said, “I’m going to be having a little corrective surgery.”  Let them wonder. Enigmas are things people love to be around. Once they know how the trick works though, they don’t go to the magic show anymore.

Make Me Heal: How happy are you with the results?

Byron: Thrilled!

Make Me Heal: How has your makeover impacted your life from personal, social, career, and other respects?

Byron: HUGELY. I am a new person both inside and out. I have a website explaining much of this in better detail. I invite the interviewer to quote from whatever they can find there that might help and also to link people to it. www.aidesignsweb.com/chasingadonis

Make Me Heal: Would you have done anything differently if you had the chance?

Byron: I would’ve done it sooner.

Make Me Heal: What is your final word of advice to other people considering the procedure(s) you had?

Byron: It is of the UTMOST IMPORTANCE with any procedure that you know your provider well. Do TONS of research before committing to one. Ask to see before and after pictures of their work, ask to speak to a willing patient of theirs over the phone and ask them blunt questions like, “How long have you been injecting this particular filler?” or “What are some examples you’ve seen of this surgery “botched” and why?” This is your body for goodness sake. If they think your probing is silly for something so mundane or they are unwilling to divulge then why would you want to give them your HARD EARNED money to alter your body?

I can’t stress enough that the hands that weild the scalpel, needle, laser, will determine what kind of results you get. Sure a small amount of it is your body, but largely it is the skill and expertise of your provider that will determine what you’ll be looking at when recovered. Pay attention to their staff! Are they kind and happy and seem content? That says a lot about who they work for! Is their office tastefully decorated and clean? Never settle for less than! And if and when you find a great provider, stick with them! They’re too precious to lose track of!

Make Me Heal: Was Make Me Heal beneficial to you along your journey?

Byron: Greatly

Does Celine Dion Go On With Plastic Surgery?

Posted on April 2nd, 2009 in Celebrity Plastic Surgery by Jet H. Ross

Songstress Celine Dion turned 41 earlier this week and looks as good as she did when she first entered the US music scene back in the early 1990s. As most women in the spotlight that are her age have been under the knife, or at least the needle, at least once, Make Me Heal decided to investigate whether or not Celine stays young with some careful plastic surgery.

Celine Dion is one of the music industry’s top earners and is notorious for sparing no expense on her creature comforts, whether it for the upkeep of her many homes around the world or her own impeccable wardrobe. Because half of a celebrity’s job is to look good, some of Celine’s money likely goes to taking care of her appearance, from personal trainers to tanning sessions. But given the fact that the high-note hitting performer looks good, if a little more mature than she used to, it seems that Celine’s nearly flawless appearance is the result of healthy living and good skincare, not plastic surgery.

Noting that Celine’s eyebrows have always been high, Dr. Paul S. Nassif, a facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon and a rhinoplasty specialist in Beverly Hills, California says, “I don’t think Celine has undergone any plastic surgery. She looks naturally good.”

Manhattan plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer agrees that Celine’s plastic surgery is minimal, saying, “Celine Dion looks great and does not look like she has had any major plastic surgery.  She may have had Botox Cosmetic injections, since her forehead seems very smooth compared to previous pictures and her eyebrows are slightly wider apart when compared to previous.  She obviously takes good care of her skin and should keep using whatever treatment she currently uses.”

On the other hand, Celine’s nose seems a little smaller than it did when she first began, which could be a conservative nose job, or better contouring make-up. Her eyelids also appear to be a little lifted, an indication of a possible eyelid lift.

According to plastic surgeon Dr. Jennifer Walden, “Celine Dion appears to have had a nicely done rhinoplasty and the possiblity of an eyelid lift (blepharoplasty) in the past exists. Regardless, she looks radiant and well put together.”

Celine has always been thin and fit and likely spends time off-stage in the gym with a personal trainer. She also probably invests in the best skin products and takes care not to wear heavy make-up when offstage or off the red carpet. Celine probably routinely gets facials and skincare treatments to ward off aging and it has certainly worked for her.

Beyond some fine lines and softened look around her jowls and neck, Celine looks much the same as she did when America first fell in love with her.

Make Me Heal wishes Celine a happy birthday and commends her on looking well, with or without some careful plastic surgery.

Is Reese Witherspoon Getting Help From Plastic Surgery?

Posted on April 1st, 2009 in Celebrity Plastic Surgery by Sam Stets

Since being Legally Blonde, Reese has become one of America’s favorite sweethearts. But is her pretty face the result of nature or really well-done plastic surgery? Make Me Heal investigates.

33-year old Reese has two children, but you’d never know it to look at her small frame and nearly unlined face. As Reese continues to look better and better with age, some have suggested that she has been carefully dabbling in plastic surgery over the years, getting a conservative nose job, some lip and facial fillers and maybe even an eyelift.

After reviewing pictures of Reese over the years, Make Me Heal suspects that Reese’s radiant new look is more likely the result of good lighting and shimmering makeup that helps her looks so fresh and young.

Plastic surgeon Dr. Jennifer Walden attributes Reese good looks to being happy, saying, “Reese Witherspoon is looking more and more beautiful; it’s probably due to her cute new boyfriend and the 160 lbs she lost (her ex-husband!). Based upon recent pictures of her working out, there are still furrows on her forehead so she may not have gotten Botox. She’s as naturally beautiful as she is talented.”

On the other hand, some actresses have tried Botox, before rejecting it, so it is possible that Reese has used it at some time.

Dr. Paul S. Nassif, a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and Rhinoplasty Specialist in Beverly Hills, Calif., says, “Reese’s medial eyebrows look a little lower now than they do in earlier pictures, indicating that she may have had some Botox injected in her forehead.”

New York plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer says, “Reese Witherspoon has likely had Botox Cosmetic and lip augmentation. Her forehead appears smoother and her lips appear fuller.”

Reese is as talented as she is beautiful and Make Me Heal looks forward to hearing her in the new animated film Monsters vs. Aliens, which is also playing in 3-D in some theaters.
