Mick Jagger’s ex Jerry Hall Corrects Cellulite with Plastic Surgery

Posted on August 11th, 2009 in Celebrity Plastic Surgery, Plastic Surgeon Articles & Interviews by Lisa Stanfield

American model and actress Jerry Hall may be best known for her relationship with rock icon Mick Jagger. But Make Me Heal thinks she may soon be better known for her remarkable cellulite reduction, courtesy of plastic surgery.

At 53, Jerry Hall still looks to be in model shape. When Jerry was photographed in her bathing suit while frolicking on the beach back in 2001, she looked thin, but not free from the ripples and dimples of cellulite that plague many women. Astonishingly enough, this year Jerry seems to have banished the tiny bulges, as could be clearly seen in this year’s bikini.

Jerry Hall, Plastic Surgery

It seems that Jerry may owe her remarkable recovery from cellulite to some non-invasive plastic surgery treatments, like cellulite reduction treatment VelaSmooth.

New York plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer says, “Jerry Hall looks great for 53. She definitely had bad cellulite in her posterior thigh in previous pictures. Her legs appear smoother which may be attributed to toning, exercise, non-invasive procedures or possibly Smartlipo MPX or other laser skin-tightening surgery. Whatever it is, it worked.”

Whatever the mother of four did to regain her figure must have worked, as the British Daily Mail reports an onlooker saying, “She was turning heads as she walked along the beach. She really looked fantastic, really healthy, and is clearly proud of her figure.”

Plastic surgeon Dr. Sherrell J. Aston says, “Jerry Hall looks great for 53 and has an impressive figure. Ms. Hall looks like she has maintained a good weight and exercise regimen. It is possible that she integrated some more muscle toning exercises to combat the cellulite she had previously. In addition to exercise it is also possible that she had some liposuction to get rid of the fatty deposits around her thigh area. Either way she looks great.”

In the past, Jerry has spoken against plastic surgery saying, “I am sick of all this plastic surgery. Women my age are scaring young children.” So perhaps she hasn’t used cellulite treatments, or does not consider them plastic surgery. Instead, she may have dieted and exercised more than usual to ensure that any photos of her on the beach were ready for the front page.

Manhattan plastic surgeon Dr. Jennifer Walden says, “She still looks great for her age and cellulite-free on her most recent picture taken on her trip to the South of France. She may have dieted and exercised to tone her body since there’s no miracle cure for the appearance of cellulite.”

Jerry has done a great job keeping up her appearance and likely wanted to be in top shape for her revealing role in London’s West End production of Calendar Girls.

Did Debbie Harry Have More Plastic Surgery?

Posted on August 10th, 2009 in Celebrity Plastic Surgery by Erica Hurtz

Punk diva Debbie Harry has continued to stay relevant, thanks to some plastic surgery.

Debbie Harry,Plastic Surgery

At 64, Blondie frontwoman Debbie Harry could be mistaken for a woman half her age, thanks to a lengthy list of well-done plastic surgery efforts. Some of these include: a facelift, eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), endoscopic browlift, and fillers to help maintain the wrinkle free results, including Botox, Juvederm, and Restylane. (See Make Me Heal’sstory on Debbie Harry’s plastic surgery).

Manhattan plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer says, “Debbie Harry looks great. When compared to earlier photos, she appears to have had several procedures. Her clean jawline, absence of previous jowls and tight neckline suggest surgical intervention such as facelift. Her lips have marked definition and fullness along the vermilion border suggesting filler injection such as Juvederm or Restylane. Her upper lids appear hollowed out which presumably is from her previous suspected upper blepharoplasty. Finally, her smooth forehead and acutely arched brows are likely from Botox Cosmetic or endoscopic brow lift.”

Debbie has always been very open and philosophical about her plastic surgery, saying in the past, “Everybody knows that I’ve had plastic surgery. I did it for business reasons. You photograph better, and looks are a key part of being an entertainer, so I felt it was something I had to do. All sorts of horrific things happen in life - why make it worse by worrying about getting older? Do some charity work, or learn a new skill instead.”

Now it seems that Debbie is continuing with her plastic surgery regimen, as she looks tauter and firmer than ever, which is likely due to her continued use of facial fillers as well as a possible revision blepharoplasty.

According to Paul S. Nassif, a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and Rhinoplasty Specialist in Beverly Hills, Calif., explains, “It seems like since we last saw Debbie, she’s undergone a brow lift and possible a revision blepharoplasty. If you look closely, you’ll notice that her forehead is longer than it was in the past and her upper eyelid crease is higher than it previously was. With time, you’d expect the opposite to occur—sagging of these areas, which isn’t what we see in recent snapshots.”

Debbie’s plastic surgeon seems to be possessed of remarkable skill because Debbie looks great, but not overdone like many of her celebrity peers.

Plastic surgeon Dr. Sherrel J Aston says, “Debbie Harry has been open about many aspects of her life including her beliefs on plastic surgery. She has candidly admitted to several procedures already and I believe she has undergone yet another. Debbie’s bone structure and skin quality have always set her apart as a great beauty. At the age of 64 she is setting new standards for aging gracefully. She is modern and sexy without looking overly taut or plastic. She has single handily changed the definition of a senior citizen and I think she is a role model for other women.”

Plastic surgery has certainly proved to be a great business decision as Blondie continues to tour to the joy of fans old and new.

What Happened to Jewel’s Breast Implants?

Posted on August 7th, 2009 in Celebrity Plastic Surgery by Jet H. Ross

With a new album out, you’d think that Jewel would have the intuition to get her breast implants replaced. But it appears that the singer/songwriter has opted not to have her plastic surgery revised.

35-year old Jewel has never entirely bought into the Hollywood hype about having perfect good looks and has taken especial pride in having crooked teeth and never having them fixed. So it was with some surprise that fans noticed a decidedly bustier Jewel in the 2003 music video for her hit single “Intuition.” It was even more surprising that when the talented and once homeless artist didn’t have her breast augmentation redone even though they are an obviously botched job.

Jewel’s breast implants seem to be the wrong size for her figure. The result is that the implant lies on top of her natural tissue, giving her breasts a lumpy appearance.

Jewel, Plastic Surgery

Manhattan plastic surgeon Dr. Jennifer Walden says, “It looks like she had breast augmentation with possible subglandular placements of the implants. It seems like her breast diameter/pocket is wider than the diameter of her implants therefore you can tell where her implants end and her real breast tissue starts.”

While Jewel’s implants do not fit now, they could be replaced for a better result.

New York plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer says, “Jewel, unfortunately, had poor outcome from her breast implant surgery. From the pictures it appears that she has had implant replacement or removal. Her breasts now have less volume and they appear more ptotic. It appears that she may benefit from additional surgery for a replacement of the implants to fill the empty volume and a possible breast reshaping procedure.”

Plastic surgeon Dr. Sherrell J Aston says, “It appears that singer Jewel’s breast implants are too small in diameter for the width of her breast. Also, her implants are visible under her skin, which suggests that her implants are not beneath the pectoral muscle. If she had a revision with better implant selection and they were placed under the muscle it would give her a better result.”

On his blog, plastic surgeon Dr. John Di Saia theorizes that perhaps the bizarre appearance of Jewel’s breasts are due to having implants removed, rather than placed. He says, “Jewel has had busty days and more recently kinda deflated days. This could easily be due to the sequence of breast implant surgery years ago with later simple implant removal. When removing implants from long ago, it often helps to add a “take up the slack” lift to keep the sag down.”

Make Me Heal wishes Jewel better success in both her future album and her plastic surgery endeavors.

Hilary Duff Speaks Out About Plastic Surgery

Posted on August 7th, 2009 in Celebrity Plastic Surgery by Erica Hurtz

Since growing out of her Disney diva days, actress and pop singer Hilary Duff has been at the center of many a plastic surgery conundrum. But the young woman has set the record straight.

Hilary Duff, Plastic Surgery

At 21 years old, Hilary has already been rumored to have had plastic surgery, including an unconfirmed breast augmentation or two (See Make Me Heal’s story on Hilary Duff’s breast augmentation).

But given Hilary’s thoughts on plastic surgery and that she speaks of it in the future, it seems unlikely that Hilary has already been under the knife.

Hilary has been quoted as saying, “I don’t have anything against people who have surgery. If I get older and feel uncomfortable about something then maybe (I will have it). I never say never.

“Some things are hard to deal with for a woman as you grow older. I think everyone should be able to feel good about themselves.

“I don’t like it when it’s really obvious and gets pointed out. Some people go overboard.”

While Hilary may not have had a breast augmentation, she has also been the subject of rumors regarding a nose job, which may or may not be true as noses change shape from childhood to adulthood (See Make Me Heal’s story on Hilary Duff’s plastic surgery).

Hilary’s time in the plastic surgeon’s office may be uncertain, but she has definitely visited a cosmetic dental specialist, as her large dental veneers were all that were talked about just a few years ago.

Make Me Heal applauds Hilary’s healthy understanding about the benefits and detriments of plastic surgery and hopes she maintains her positive outlook when the time comes for her to have some work done.

Did Angelina Jolie Already Have a Facelift?

Posted on August 7th, 2009 in Celebrity Plastic Surgery by Lisa Stern

Pretty Angel, Angelina Jolie has long been considered one of Hollywood’s hottest women and much of her beauty is attributed to some very well done plastic surgery. But the latest rumors surrounding Angelina’s plastic surgery perfection involve a facelift, a procedure Make Me Heal now investigates.

33-year old Angelina has notoriously transformed her image in the media from a blood-carrying bad girl to a mother of many good girl. But along with her media image is the plastic surgery that Angelina has had over the years, including a nose job and cheek implants (See Make Me Heal’s story on Angelina Jolie’s plastic surgery).

While many actresses begin having anti-aging procedures in the 30s, the procedures are typically non-invasive, like fillers and laser treatments. More drastic procedures, like a full facelift, don’t usually take place until the 40s, when deeper wrinkles have begun to appear and skin has lost its elasticity.

Angelina Jolie,Plasitic Surgery

Dr. Paul S. Nassif, a facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon and a rhinoplasty specialist in Beverly Hills, California, admits, “I don’t know what to say about Angie…the scars aren’t from pinning the ears back or having a mastoidectomy (ear surgery).  The scars would be more suggestive of having a facelift although it’s hard to say from these photos.”

Not only is Angelina not the usual age for a facelift procedure, the scars shown in photos behind the ear are not indicative of a facelift, as they are behind, rather than in front, of the ear.

Manhattan plastic surgeon Dr. Jennifer Walden tells Make Me Heal, “She is only 33 and still very beautiful with healthy appearing skin. Incisions for a facelift are usually placed in front of the ear and around the ear crease posteriorly (postauricular). Her scar extends away from her postauricular sulcus in a position that would not typically be used for a facelift or an otoplasty so I doubt she’s had anything like this done.”

Some have also suggested that Angelina may have had an otoplasty, or ear-pinning procedure, like her life partner, Brat Pitt (See Make Me Heal’s story on Brad Pitt’s plastic surgery). This theory is also unlikely because the scars also do not match with those for an ear-pinning and even in early pictures, Angelina’s ears never appeared to protrude overmuch.

New York Manhattan plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer says, “Pictures of Angelina Jolie’s “scars” behind her ears are not necessarily from a facelift.  The same incision is used for people with prominent ear to perform otoplasty (pinning back the ear) to put them in a more natural position.  At her age, I think that this is more likely than a facelift.”

More likely results of Angelina’s scars are wearing her Oliver Peoples sunglasses too snuggly or even having some skin blemishes removed.

Make Me Heal looks forward to what the leader of the rainbow coalition will do next, whether its saving the world or having more plastic surgery.

Did Anne Heche Get Botoxed for Hung?

Posted on August 5th, 2009 in Celebrity Plastic Surgery by Sam Stets

Actress Anne Heche is probably better known for her off-screen shenanigans than her onscreen work, but that doesn’t mean she hasn’t joined mainstream Hollywood and gotten some plastic surgery.

Anne Heche, Plastic Surgery

40-year old Anne Heche has an unusual personal life, switching from dating men to women and back again, with her most notorious relationship being the several years she spent with comedienne Ellen DeGeneres (See Make Me Heal’s story on Ellen DeGeneres’ plastic surgery).

But it seems that when she wasn’t wandering around talking to God, or relationship hopping, Anne found the time to visit a plastic surgeon and get Botox injections at the very least.

Manhattan plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer says, “Anne Heche definitely appears to have had Botox. Her frown lines are smoothed from previous photos. This could be the effect of Botox or some good airbrushing. Either way, she looks great.”

If Anne has spent time under the needle, she may have also spent time under the blade, getting a minor rhinoplasty to reduce the side of her tip and eyelid surgery to eliminate the bags that formerly appeared under her eyes.

Plastic surgeon Dr. Sherrell J Aston says, “In my opinion Anne Heche looks great. She looks like she had both Botox and fillers such as Restylane. In addition to these treatments I suspect that she had a Tiplasty to refine her nose and a Blepharoplasty to reduce bags around her eyes. Mrs. Heche might have a turbulent personal life but luckily for her it does not show on her face.”

On the other hand, the changes in Anne’s appearance are so subtle that they could be her own symptoms of aging naturally.

Dr. Paul S. Nassif, a facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon and a rhinoplasty specialist in Beverly Hills, California says, “Anne Heche looks great without significant difference from her previous photos. It’s hard to say for sure if she’s had a rhinoplasty especially since the angles of the photos are a bit different. It’s not out of the question though because her nose is straight and looks a bit broader at the tip and deprojected with slight narrowing of the nasal alae. Usually the giveaway is in the chin. While her chin looks a bit more projected (or forward), it’s hard to say in these photos. All in all though the changes are very minor so it’s possible this is still her natural self!”

Make Me Heal hopes Anne’s latest romantic relationship works out as well as her plastic surgery has and looks forward to watching her on HBO’s new series, Hung .

Rachel Weisz Calls for Plastic Surgery Ban

Posted on August 5th, 2009 in Celebrity Plastic Surgery by Ruby Marr

While Make Me Heal has heard of people who are against plastic surgery, even non-invasive procedures like Botox, we were surprised to hear that an outcry was coming from the Hollywood community. Yet it seems that Rachel Weisz is calling for a ban on Botox for her fellow actors.

Rachel Weisz, Plastic Surgery

39-year old British beauty first came to the attention of American audiences in the family-friendly action flick The Mummy. Since then she has become a household name, but apparently without the aid of plastic surgery if she is to believed.

The Academy Award actress recently spoke out against the use of Botox for those in the acting profession, saying in a recent interview in the August issue of UK edition of Harper’s Bazaar.

She says, “It should be banned for actors, as steroids are for sportsmen. Acting is all about expression; why would you want to iron out a frown?”

While Make Me Heal’s panel of plastic surgery experts believe that Rachel is currently plastic surgery-free, they also predict that she may reconsider her position one day.

On his blog, plastic surgeon Dr. Anthony Youn suggests Rachel and her fellow actors use Dysport, a recently introduced alternative injectable to Botox.

He writes, “Well, that’s all fine and dandy. It would be funny if they agreed to this for her next movie and suddenly all the other actors show up wrinkle-free anyways. They could just use Dysport instead.”

Dr. Paul S. Nassif, a facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon at Spalding Drive Plastic Cosmetic Surgery and Dermatology tells Make Me Heal, “Rachel can say that because she is wrinkle-free!! I would love to get a better angle look at her nose because a subtle rhinoplasty may be useful. Has she had any work —- I doubt it.”

Manhattan plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer says, “Rachel Weisz is entitled to her opinion. However, in time, she will have her day in the plastic surgeon’s office. There definitely are actors that have way too much Botox on board. However, when done correctly, Botox Cosmetic helps smooth the wrinkles and fine lines while preserving expression.”

Manhattan plastic surgeon Dr. Jennifer Walden says, “It does not look like she has had any work done. However, well-placed and conservatively injected Botox can make one’s forehead appear wrinkle-free and flawless like hers looks on the cover of Bazaar.”

Plastic surgeon Dr. Sherrell J. Aston says, “I can understand Ms. Weisz’s opinion on actors getting Botox, however, at the end of the day, it is a personal decision that everyone makes.”

While good skincare may be enough for Rachel now while she’s still relatively young, Make Me Heal thinks she may change her mind about Botox and similar procedures as she ages and her wrinkles make an appearance.

Did David Cassidy Get A Facelift For His New Show?

Posted on August 3rd, 2009 in Celebrity Plastic Surgery, Male Plastic Surgery by Dana Jackson

David Cassidy was every girl’s dream back in the 70s when he played the sexy lead singer of the Partridge Family. But now plastic surgery may be turning David into more of nightmare.

David Cassidy, Plastic Surgery

The Partridge Family sitcom of the 70s featured a family rock band. Now David is reliving his past on the new ABC Family show Ruby and the Rockits, alongside tween star Alexa Vega. While David’s rock and roll style may be the same as way back when, his face is decidedly different looking.

At 59, many fans have noticed that David’s cute looks that made him a favorite of teenage girls have all but disappeared, along with his long, shaggy locks. While aging affects us all, David appears to have fought nature with some plastic surgery that has left him looking very “plastic.”

In the past, when questioned about plastic surgery, David has said, “No, no facelift. I don’t smoke. I hardly drink. And I take regular exercise.”

David’s skin is preternaturally smooth, which could be indicative of a facelift, but is more likely the result of more non-invasive procedures, like facial injectables like Botox and skin resurfacing treatments, like laser treatments or chemical peels.

Also, while David has always had full “apple” cheeks, they look even higher and fuller now than they did on the Partridge Family. As cheeks tend to lose fullness and droop as people age, it is likely that David has been rejuvenating his face with fillers or fat grafting.

Manhattan plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer says, “I agree, David Cassidy does look very plastic lately. He appears to have Botox in the glabella, leading to wide set eyebrows and in the forehead, leading to low-set and peaked brows. He would benefit from less Botox in the forehead and little more in the crow’s feet area. He also appears to have full cheeks, which may be the result of fillers or fat grafting. He skin is smooth, which is likely the result of laser, chemical peels or IPL.”

David may also have had a browlift and blepharoplasty to help elevate his brows to their current level, and may have also had hair transplants as well, as his hairline is strikingly perfect.

Plastic surgeon Dr Sherrell J Aston says, “I believe that David Cassidy has always had a youthful appearance. However, after reviewing his latest photographs I think he may have had some surgery to enhance his looks. He appears to be very tight around his eyes and his forehead looks elevated. It is likely that Mr. Cassidy had a Brow Lift and a Blepharoplasty to achieve this look. In addition to these surgical procedures it is also possible that he has had hair transplants and had Botox injections.”

Dr. Paul S. Nassif, a facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon and a rhinoplasty specialist in Beverly Hills, California says, “David Cassidy looks great and has that rejuvenated look, mostly in his upper and midface.   Looking at the lack of wrinkles in his forehead, it looks like he’s had a browlift, in addition to a facelift and fat grafting to keep his cheeks plump and rejuvenated.  His chin looks a little broader than it did when he was in his teens so a chin implant is also a possibility.”

Make Me Heal is glad to see the Grammy-nominated entertainer’s return to TV in such a family-friendly capacity and looks forward to seeing what plastic surgery David undergoes next.

Did Singer Leona Lewis Get a Breast Augmentation?

Posted on August 3rd, 2009 in Black Plastic Surgery, Celebrity Plastic Surgery, Ethnic Plastic Surgery by Erica Hurtz

British singer Leona Lewis made it big in the US with her pop single “Bleeding Love.” But many have also wondered if plastic surgery has helped enhance her career. Make Me Heal investigates the evidence with the help of our plastic surgery experts.

Leona Lewis, Plastic Surgery

24-year old Leona Lewis first came to the attention of the public when she won on the third season of the British talent show The X Factor. Since then, Leona’s popularity has crossed the pond and made her a hit in the US as well.

Crossing the pond has also brought Leona’s cleavage into better view, leading many bloggers to speculate that the pop singer has had a breast augmentation since rising to fame.

While her breasts are noticeably larger, it is also possible that their growth is due to weight gain.

Plastic surgeon Dr. John Di Saia says, “Maybe. It looks like she may have gained a little weight, but she seems much more busty than that we would usually see with small weight gains.”

Plastic surgeon Dr. Sherrell J Aston says, “After reviewing the photographs of singer Leona Lewis I suspect that her current breast size is more due to a weight gain rather than implants.”

The Grammy nominee’s breasts could also be held up by a more supportive bra that better shows off her ample cleavage from previously.

New York plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer says, “Based on the “then and now” photographs, Leona Lewis does appear to have had breast augmentation. She has a fuller upper pole and more cleavage. However, this could also be the effect of a supportive bra and change in posture between the pictures as well. If she had surgery, it is a job well done.”

Whatever Leona has done to enhance her appearance, it has clearly helped to enhance her career as well and Make Me Heal wishes her luck on her new album.
