Even though Antonio Banderas has forbidden his wife Melanie Griffith from ever having plastic surgery again and even threatened to leave her if she were to go under the knife again, it seems that she may not be listening to her hubby’s warning and might have succumbed to her cosmetic surgery addiction again.

Melanie’s appearance at the film premiere of Shrek The Third in Hollywood this past weekend sparked new rumors that she has had more cosmetic surgery.

Looking overdone and in a cake of make up, Melanie Griffith’s forehead appeared tight without a trace of a wrinkle, and the rest of her face no signs of aging – no crows’ feet around the eyes, no under eye bags, and no laugh lines. While youthful genes are always a possibility, the reality is that it is hardly believable that the 49-year old actress would not have any wrinkles at this stage of her life. Additionally, her cosmetically injected blow-fish lips seemed to have returned. Even though there is an absence of wrinkles, the result is not natural.

London based plastic surgeon Apostolos Gaitanis is quite sure that Melanie Griffith has gone under the knife again. “It is possible that her youthful looks are down to genes, but I would say that in this case it is unlikely,” says Dr. Gaitainis.

Melanie Griffith is rumored to have had a breast augmentation, liposuction, eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), repeated lip augmentation and Botox injections, and a possible forehead lift and face lift.

It is quite surprising that Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith have made it 11 years, as the two could not be more diametrically apart on the subject of cosmetic surgery. Banderas has said that he wants to grow old with wrinkles and that he detests the obsession with youth that pervades Hollywood.

“This lust for beauty is a terrible thing. I’ve forbidden her from ever going to a cosmetic surgeon again. It is something we have agreed to for the sake of our marriage,” said Banderas..

“I said to her, ‘I want to see you growing old and I will grow old with you too, and I don’t care’. I like her the way she is. Wrinkles are beautiful,” says Banderas.

Fans and Make Me Heal alike prefer Melanie Griffith without these repeated episodes of cosmetic enhancements. Melanie Griffith used to be an attractive woman and her flaws and quirks made her unique in the Hollywood landscape. Her abuse of cosmetic surgery is unhealthy for herself and her family and she needs to stop before it becomes irreversible. Her abuse of plastic surgery can be likened to someone who is using a quick fix to escape their real problems, as what is going on with Melanie Griffith is a deep-seated issue that goes beyond the surface of her skin. We hope she pulls through and listens to her husband.
