  • In a recent issue of Glamour magazine, former reality star turned fashion designer Lauren Conrad shows off her body. Posing topless and wearing flowery bikini briefs, Lauren says that she’s fighting the same problem that millions of women face: cellulite:

26-year old Lauren Conrad says that she normally isn’t comfortable showing off her body, after photos snapped by the paparazzi revealed her cottage cheese thighs.

“On the vacation to Cabo, I wore a bathing suit on the beach for the first time in years. Usually I’m just petrified,” she says. “A couple of years ago someone zoomed in on my cellulite and it was so mean. I took it really personally. I haven’t worn a bathing suit in L.A. in years because of that.”

Presumably Lauren decided to don a swimsuit because of the promise of Photoshop to get rid of any cellulite that would flaw her great gams. But when she’s not in front of the camera, there are several products that Lauren could use to battle the bulges.

NutraLuxe Infrared Massager Set w/ Case and Lipo Cream promises to eliminate signs of cellulite in just 4-6 weeks. Using a low voltage massager combined with a powerful cream, the NutraLuxe device can improve the appearance of the legs, firm the buttocks and a flatter abdomen.

Wellbox Lipomassage Cellulite & Fat Reduction Device revitalizes deep tissue in order to blast cellulite and fat and reduce the unsightly appearance of “cottage cheese” thighs. Clinically proven lipomassage can get rid of the cellulite that diet and exercise can’t.

Delfin Spa Bio-Ceramic Anti Cellulite Capris are comfortable and fit easily under your clothes for a close fit so that no one will even know you’re wearing them. They also make a perfect pant for exercising, whether you prefer yoga or cardio. Bio-ceramic material both generates Far Infrared Rays (FIR) and reflects your body’s own FAR infrared rays to break down cellulite cells, improve circulation and revitalize tissue. The Delfin capris are most effective when used with Delfin Spa Anti-Cellulite Cream to penetrate the deepest layers of tissue.

Lytess Shapewear is made from micromassaging fabric that helps get rid of the dimples and appearance of cellulite around the waist, hips, stomach, buttocks, and thighs. The fabric in the Lytess Anti-Cellulite Micromassage Dream Lift Leggings actually releases cellulite-reducing ingredients into your skin as you wear it, resulting in a firming effect of 85% and a Cellulite Reduction effect of 65%.
BelleCore HoneyBelle Anti-Cellulite & Skin Exfoliation Bodybuffer Kit contains everything you need to get rid of orange peel skin: the original HoneyBelle bodybuffer with 2 terrycloth bonnet, one 4 ounce tube of luxurious Après Contouring Crème, an instructional DVD, and the owner’s manual, all tucked into the elegant carrying case. HoneyBelle bodybuffer’s patented oscillating technology uses mechanical forces to improve the appearance of cellulite. In a clinical study, over 70% reported an improvement of appearance and 95% noted their legs felt smooth after using the HoneyBelle® bodybuffer.

Heidi Montag Regrets Lipo, Says it Caused Cellulite

July 12, 2012 in Celebrity Plastic Surgery by Lisa Stanfield | Comments Off

It’s been nearly three years since Heidi Montag’s infamous plastic surgery procedures. However, with little else to do, she’s still talking about her multiple procedures and complaining about the results.

In 2009 Heidi had a nose job revision, chin reduction, mini brow lift, botox in forehead and frown area, fat injections in cheeks, nasolabial folds and lips, neck liposuction, ears pinned back, liposuction on waist, hips and inner and outer thighs, buttock augmentation and breast augmentation revision. (See Make Me Heal’s story on Heidi Montag’s plastic surgery).

In an interview with In Touch Weekly, 25-year old Heidi Montag says, “Getting lipo is my biggest regret.” Evidently the former reality star was shocked after seeing photos of herself with cellulite just months after the surgeries took place.

Although liposuction does not seem to work for everyone (See Make Me Heal’s story on Tara Reid’s corrective plastic surgery), the procedure does not cause cellulite.

Plastic surgeon Dr. Robert Guida insists “cellulite is a genetic condition” and “not caused by liposuction,” Heidi disagrees.

”I got cellulite after my lipo,” Heidi believes.

To try to get rid of her cellulite, she exercises and eats healthy and encourages other considering cosmetic surgery to do the same.

Heidi advises, “Try to lose weight and eat healthily. It’s less painful, cheaper, and more beneficial.”

It sounds like Heidi has learned from her mistakes and is imparting her new found wisdom to her remaining fans.

A fuller bottom makes can cause a woman to get notices. Buttock boosting shapewear may provide an instant lift but can slip and look fake. There are some new procedures that can positively alter the way your buttocks look, in a natural and long-lasting way.

    Fat Sculpting

This procedure permanently removes stubborn fat deposits that have accumulated in the chin, upper arms, stomach, hips, buttocks, knees, thighs, and calves due to age, genetics, or hormones. “Laser lipo,” as it’s sometimes called, starts by liquefying the fatty tissue with a tiny cannula inserted through small, quarter inch incisions that are easily camouflaged. Then, the laser promotes skin contraction over the treated areas to firm up and smooth skin tone. Your buttock region will have a better shape and contour. New York-based plastic surgeon Dr. Z. Paul Lorenc, who specializes in body contouring, explains, “Laser lipolysis has been proven to be a safe and effective method.  Recovery time and scarring are usually minimal and results can be dramatic. You will be able to walk out of our office shortly after the procedure and most people return to their normal routine in just a few days. If the buttocks needs more shaping, we can add the suctioned fat for augmentation.”

    Brazilian Butt Lift

The uber popular Brazilian butt lift technique is typically performed using a silicone get implant or your own fat. Implants have fallen out of favor in some circles because there is a high rate of infection and migration, and symmetry can be a challenge. Fat offers significant advantages if there is enough fat to add sufficient volume. For those with buttocks lacking the seductive curves they seek, fat transplantation may be the best option. Fat transfer is done by harvesting adipose fatty cells from an area of your body and injecting them into any dermal area that is depressed, like your buttocks. Most women choose fat transplantation to restore elasticity, increase volume, and create smoothness. But this is not an ideal treatment for size zero women looking for a bottom boost, as there has to be a decent amount of fat to harvest.

This procedure can be long lasting and since your own fat is used, there is no risk of rejection or allergies. Typically, one or a series of fat injection treatments are required for best results. In some cases, the more the merrier: each additional fat transfer treatment provides greater improvement. Unlike a lot of treatments, this does not require any pre-testing since patients use his or her own fat cells and the grafting is done as a standalone procedure using local procedure or in conjunction with other surgical procedures such as liposuction or a tummy tuck.

    Dimple Therapies

Another approach to a better and firmer buttocks and squeezing into skinny jeans is to smooth out dimples and boost tone. Velashape is a combination of Bi-Polar Radiofrequency, Infrared Light Energy, plus Vacuum and Mechanical Massage to smooth out the skin. The net result is a nice shrinkage of the size of the actual fat cells and fat chambers, noticeable reduction in dimpling and a circumferential improvement in size and shape after a series of four to six sessions.

Lipomassage by Endermologie is a popular treatment in spas and medspas that uses massage rollers to reduce water retention and cellulite for a more toned and trim bottom. At Anushka Spa, Salon, Cosmedical Centre in West Palm Beach, FL, they take a comprehensive and scientific approach to dimples by offering SmoothShapes plus Presso Jet and Thermo Jet treatments. The SmoothShapes device uses a Photomology® platform: a process that treats cellulite by combining a diode laser and LED energy along with vacuum and massage. With long lasting results, SmoothShapes stimulates the restoration of healthy cell activity by focusing on the underlying causes of cellulite.

Actress Mischa Barton has taken a lot of heat from the press about her body, from the size of her thighs to her cellulite issues. Mischa is looking good these days, but plastic surgery may not be responsible.

25-year old Mischa Barton often makes questionable fashion choices, from cuts to color. One fashion misstep revealed  a lot of cellulite, leading to recommendations on how Mischa could get rid of it  (Read Make Me Heal’s story on Mischa Barton’s Plastic Surgery).

Recent photos of Mischa reveal that the actress seems to have lost weight and the ripples and dimples that plagued the back of her legs.

Rather than turn to laser treatments for cellulite, Mischa looks like she has done things the hard way, through diet and exercise and no need for plastic surgery recovery time.

Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer says, “I am not a firm believer in laser treatments for cellulite reduction.  Cellulite is caused by adherences between the skin and the underlying tissue. Exercise and plenty of water seem to be effective treatments for breaking down those adherence’s and reducing the appearance of cellulite.”

Mischa looks healthy and happy and cellulite-free and Makemeheal.com wishes her luck on maintaining her new look.

It seems that not everything is perfect in sunny SoCal. Reality television star Lauren Conrad recently admitted to suffering from one of the most problematic issues facing women: dreaded cellulite.

25-year old Lauren recently admitted to being embarrassed about her cellulite in an interview with Allure magazine.

The stereotypical California girl revealed, ” About a year ago, I looked down and thought, I have cellulite. Where did that come from? I went through treatments; [my body] was like, ‘It’s not going anywhere.’ ”

Her solution for hiding her problem areas is only a temporary fix:

“If I’m shopping and I see paparazzi, my [hand]bag goes directly to my thighs.”

If Lauren did want to undergo a more permanent fix for cellulite, she could try laser treatments, like the Kardashian clan. Kim has used VelaShape laser treatment for cellulite, along with her reality show co-stars and sisters, Khloe and Kourtney (See Make Me Heal’s story on the Kardashian sisters’ cellulite treatment).

Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer says, “Cellulite is a matter of the skin adhering to the underlying tissues.  Although exercise will minimize the amount of fatty tissues she has, she needs to break those adhesions.  There are different treatments that simulate a massaging effect that may help with that.”

Lauren looks great, especially with her new exercise program and so far seems to be holding true to her promise to avoid plastic surgery.
